Staff & Leadership Team
Robert & Sarah Fusté, co-Directors
Robert and Sarah have been a part of the Still Waters extended family since 2001. While taking a course on discipleship during their studies at nearby Andrews University, the Fustés were invited to join a group at Still Waters that was looking at the gift of spiritual direction. Participation in this group along with experiencing their first silent retreats and engaging in an ongoing practice of spiritual companionship led Robert and Sarah to accept an invitation to join the Still Waters board in 2003.
Pursuing careers in diverse fields, Robert in web design and Sarah as a French teacher, it was a growing call toward some kind of spiritual formation ministry that led them to leave Michigan in 2007 and spend nine months at the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, partly to discern whether Still Waters might be a part of this calling.
They are now living and working at Still Waters as co-Directors since 2009, proud parents of Melanie Sweetpea, and growing through the unique challenges and blessings of leadership during transition.
Tom & Delcy Kuhlman, Founders
For twenty years now, the space of Still Waters has been owned and nurtured by Tom and Delcy Kuhlman. In August of 2009, they moved into their new home elsewhere on the property and transitioned into their new role as Founding Directors.
Although no longer as involved with the day-to-day work, they still bless this place in many ways. Tom generously and faithfully tends the outdoor places by mowing lawns and snow shoveling, while Delcy continues to journey with people through the gift of spiritual companionship.
